The school semester has come to a close, and what an ass kicker it was. Combined with my job I have had only one full day to myself since September 8, and I spent it with the flu. I am greatly looking forward to having free time over the course of the winter and my DA page will reflect that. It does look like the stress and hard work was worth it, I have a shot at a 4.0 GPA, which is no small accomplishment in Graduate School.
So what does this mean for the DA page?
Well, for starters I can finally finish pulling and editing my favorite vacation photos.
There is also a stock pile of other photos to look through as well, so expect quite a few more submissions to come.
I also plan to do a lot more drawing over the winter. I used to draw quite a bit, but life has its ways of well, getting in the way. I used to draw urban scenes all the time, and nearly always from a bird's eye view. I have uploaded a few drawings in the sketchbook and will be creating a new folder in my Gallery for drawn images.
Here is a fictional steel mill that I just scanned and added today...

Expanding my Horizons
Inspired the awesome artists of fan art here on DA: Darkspeeds, EvanStanley, SEGAMew to note a few, I have decided to learn how to draw characters; specifically Sonic characters as I am a big Sonic fan, and the simplified anatomy would be a good place to start. The learning curve is starting speed up, as I had no abilities in this department not that long ago.

Here is a sketch of Shadow, I used the awesome tutorial by Darkspeeds
[link] to draw the head, and I finished off the rest of the body on my own. I botched the hands and arms because I suck at drawing hands, but I have only done a couple dozen attempts at this, so with more practice I should improve.

The difference of a reference image, but I cannot take credit for this image's originality, that would be the awesome Tracy Yardley. This sketch was done referencing a scene in Sonic Universe #8, published by Archie. It turned out well, but Silver's right boot is too big. I hope to be able to crank out drawings like this in a minute or two without any references. Practice makes perfect....
